Hawk Tuah girl criticized for ‘cursing’ Mets baseball team after throwing first pitch

The Hawk Tuah girl’s 15 minutes of fame are far from over, as she was invited to throw out the first pitch at a Mets game on August 15. However, MLB fans said the baseball team may be cursed after welcoming her to its field.

Haliey Welch, aka the viral Hawk Tuah girl, has been invited to numerous special events since she rose to fame with her “Tim & Dee TV” YouTube interview in June.

Although she may have initially been embarrassed to leave her house after the video went viral, Haliey is now taking advantage of the opportunities that come her way.

One of them was throwing the first pitch in the Major League Baseball game between the New York Mets and the Oakland Athletics on August 15.

Although she seemed to enjoy being part of this tradition, which is carried on by celebrities alike, netizens called the encounter “pathetic.”

Others also expressed their disapproval of X: “Disgusting! Do better, Mets!” shouted one.

“An absolute disgrace,” said another.

“What the hell are we doing?” asked a third.

Some MLB fans even accused Hawk Tuah of cursing the Mets. “It’s over. See you in 2025,” one said.

“If that’s not a curse, I don’t know what a curse is,” agreed another.

However, one MLB fan found a reason to laugh. He added, “Did she throw a ‘spit ball’?”

Some also pointed out that Haliey threw the first pitch to her friend Chelsea Bradford and not to an actual Mets player, as is usually the case.

“The best part is that no Met player wanted to catch for them,” one scoffed.

Hawk Tuah’s girl was also left out in the cold because she mistook dog food for human food during her trip to Erewhon in August.

She was even criticized for not knowing what a meme is, even though she called herself a “meme queen” on X and shared several attempts to create one.

Although Haliey’s first pitch may have angered some baseball fans, she is not the only celebrity to have come under fire after being invited to an MLB stadium.

In 2013, “Call Me Maybe” singer Carly Rae Jepsen was known for one of the worst first pitches of all time – even the MLB said it “went horribly wrong.”
