Die another day Star Halle Berry reflects on her experiences as part of Pierce Brosnan James Bond Film. Released in 2002, Die another day was directed by Lee Tamahori and was Brosnan’s swan song as 007. The film, which was not particularly well received, follows Bond as he investigates the links between a North Korean terrorist and a diamond magnate, as well as the satellite weapon the two are building. Berry stars in Die another day as Jinx, one of Bond’s most important allies throughout the film.

During a recent appearance on Wired’s “Autocomplete Interview” segment, Berry was interviewed in detail about her involvement in Die another day.

He will always be my Bond
always. I am a fan of Pierce Brosnan. In this film he restored my faith in men. There could not be a more gentlemanly person than Pierce Brosnan.

“Bond wasn’t on my bucket list, no, to be in one, but I’ve always loved the films. But now that I’ve been in one, I feel like I’m part of film history. These films are iconic. They will be a part of our history forever and I’m really honored to have been part of a film like this, especially with Pierce.”

Generally speaking, Die another day was among Brosnan’s worst-received Bond films. The film, which has a critics’ score of 55% and an audience score of 41% on Rotten Tomatoes, was widely criticized for being simply too far-fetched. From the invisible car to the comic book villains to the inclusion of a satellite that essentially fires energy beams, Die another day just felt like a step too fareven for Bond.

In addition to Brosnan himself, who was as entertaining and confident as ever in his role as Bond, Berry was a highlight Die another day. The “Bond girl” has always been an essential part of any 007 adventure and is usually a mix of flirtatious, mysterious and dangerous. Jinx, an NSA agent, is just that and Bond first meets her in Cuba before the two investigate a gene therapy clinic.
