Detective Emily Cooper, at your service
As Emily scours social media with Mindy (Ashley Park), she thinks she’s discovered a clue to Camille’s whereabouts: Sofia Sideris’ recent post – a snapshot from sunny Greece with the caption “Lost is a beautiful place to find yourself” – leads her to believe that Camille is hiding out in the Mediterranean with her secret lover.
She tells this to Gabriel (Lucas Bravo), who is extremely worried about the mother of his child, calling local hospitals and searching all of Camille’s favorite cafes. He is not happy that Camille had an affair with Sofia while she was with him, but finding out that Emily knew about it the whole time is another stab in the back. “I had my own relationship, okay? I didn’t think it was my place to interfere in yours,” she announces. Soon the two are shouting at each other in the street. He stomps off, leaving Emily alone to investigate.
Emily sends Sofia a message to get more information about Camille’s whereabouts, but the artist tells her that Camille is not actually with her in Greece; she hasn’t heard from her at all. Despite their argument, she notifies Gabriel, who heads to Megève, a village in the Alps where Camille’s family owns a chalet. It is the only place they haven’t looked yet, he explains.
But she’s not in the Alps, as Emily discovers. She happens to remember that Camille had shared her location on Emily’s phone when they were in Saint-Tropez. Camille agrees to return to Paris with Emily, where she finds not only Gabriel but also Sofia – who has flown in from Greece to join the search – waiting for her at L’Esprit de Gigi. She hugs Gabriel in relief, but her kiss with Sofia feels much more romantic. Gabriel, however, is OK with things between them. He later tells Emily, “I know what it feels like to fall in love with someone else.”
Luc is free
After Julien (Samuel Arnold) officially leaves Agence Grateau and joins JVMA – and is enjoying his new, luxurious corner office – Sylvie (Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu) has to divide his clients between the team. This leaves Luc (Bruno Gouery) in charge of a lunch for luxury jewelry brand Boucheron, and the Frenchman feels overwhelmed. (In particular, he is not “elegant enough” for the client.)
In a panic, he calls his former colleague and asks him to help him with the presentation. Julien secretly agrees to pass on all the details of the lunch to Luc, who then presents them to the Boucheron team. (Of course, there is a stupid mix-up with the lunch order.)
The presentation appeases the customers and Luc is allowed to lead the lunch, but when the representatives point out that it feels like there is “something missing” from the event, Luc takes the idea and tells them that this is actually the real theme of the lunch. He announces that one of the Boucheron pendants is missing and attendees must embark on a Boucheron “scavenger hunt” to find the missing jewels – the brand will post clues on social media and whoever finds the pendant gets to keep it.
It’s a clever marketing move, but a worrying one for the customer, who says he doesn’t have the budget to just give away an expensive necklace. Don’t worry, Luc tells him: “We’ll just keep posting clues until they get sick of it.” We have a feeling this is going to come back to haunt Luc. the culture.
The poisonous legend of Louis de Léon
At JVMA, Nicolas de Léon (Paul Forman) tries to apologize to Mindy for the “Roland Garros slut-shaming” incident. He sends a private car to take her to JVMA headquarters, where he apologizes for not standing up to his father. To make amends, he lets her run free in her signature closet. “It’s like my own personal Bon Marchet,” she squeals happily. Apology accepted.
But as she browses through the fashion, some young JVMA employees come in and warn her: “Women should not go into the brand’s closet alone.” Apparently, Nicolas’ father and JVMA boss Louis de Léon (Pierre Deny) has a “borderline creepy” penchant for choosing clothes for his female employees and forcing them to try them on in front of him, as she later reveals to Emily. Will she tell Nicholas? “I don’t know what to do,” she worries.
But Emily does: she tells Sylvie. The owner of Agence Grateau is back in Louis’ orbit this episode, as her husband Laurent G (Arnaud Binard) tells her early on that JVMA wants to hire her team to handle marketing for the new yacht club they are opening. After seeing Sylvie, Louis and Laurent at a business breakfast near the office, Emily sits down with her boss and tells him everything Mindy told her about the problematic JVMA CEO.
With it The World A reporter is chasing Sylvia again to get her to do an interview against Louis de Léon and his misconduct in the workplace. Did Sylvie maneuver her way into a deal with a marketing disaster?
