It’s time to say “Ello’ Guv’nor” again, because Guy Ritchie, the modern guru of British film gangsters, returns with more stories of drugs, sex and rock ‘n’ roll in The gentlemen.

A spin-off of his 2020 film of the same name. The gentlemen The series launched on Netflix in March 2024 and shot to the top of the most-watched lists. Unsurprisingly, it has been greenlit for a second season and more are sure to follow in the future.

Fresh from the success of his R-rated blockbuster about World War II Ministry of Unexpunged WarfareGuy Ritchie returns to Halstead Manor, home of The gentlemen.

Here’s everything you need to know about the second season of the Netflix drama.

Is there any news about the release date?

Netflix confirmed that filming for the second season will not begin until 2025, so it is likely that The gentlemen will return to screens in 2026. Season two will consist of eight episodes.

The second season was announced when Netflix unveiled a London billboard with a very Brand unveiling. Watch the moment in the clip below.

Who is in the cast of The Gentlemen?

Theo James (X-Men ’97) returns as “Captain” Eddie Horniman, who unexpectedly inherits a cannabis empire but soon develops a taste for the criminal underworld and beats the gangsters, crooks and evildoers at their own game.

Kaya Scodelario (Skin) will reprise her role as Susie Glass, who oversees her father’s crime syndicate while he is in prison.

Daniel Ings (The Crown) will be back as Lord Freddy Horniman, Eddie’s unreliable older brother and family failure who must juggle his cocaine addiction and his work in the drug trade.

Further casting news for season two will be announced at a later date, but it is likely that both Ray Winstone and Giancarlo Esposito will return after seeing the two main characters meet behind bars at the end of season one.

Guy Ritchie has been confirmed to return as director and executive producer.

What happened in the first season of “The Gentlemen”?

The gentlemen In “The Last Man,” Eddie (James) unexpectedly inherits his father’s vast country estate – only to discover that it is home to a cannabis empire run by drug lord Bobby Glass (Winstone).

Eddie soon has to defend himself against a host of shady characters from the British underworld, all of whom want a piece of the pie.

To protect his family from the clutches of criminals, Eddie tries to beat the gangsters at their own game. But he soon realizes that he has talents that can be useful to him as a crime boss. He finds an ally in Susie Glass (Scodelario), a ruthless woman who oversees her father’s syndicate while he is in prison.

The crime syndicate is up for sale and American meth dealer Stanley Johnston (Giancarlo Esposito) is the most enthusiastic – and dangerous – potential buyer.

The first season ended with Eddie and Susie teaming up to take control of the business, while Eddie and Stanley meet behind bars and form a dangerous coalition for the second season.

Where was The Gentlemen filmed?

Badminton House, Gloucestershire

Halstead Manor, the ancestral home inherited by Theo James’ Eddie Halstead, was filmed at Badminton House in Gloucestershire, the ancestral home of the Duke and Duchess of Beaufort and the venue for the Badminton Horse Trials.

Loseley Park, Guildford

This Tudor house in Surrey was the heroic setting in Ritchie’s 2020 film, and although the series was primarily shot at Badminton House, he returned to Loseley Park to capture some of the opulent inner sanctums of Halstead Manor and scenes in the Halstead woods.

Wrotham Park, Hertfordshire

In “The Gentlemen,” American tycoon Stanley Johnston (Giancarlo Esposito) owns the magnificent Bridgewater House estate in the country. The film was shot in the neo-Palladian English country house Wrotham Park, a location that was also used in “The Crown” and the second season of “Bridgerton.”

The Reform Club, Pall Mall

The private Mayfair club has been welcoming gentlemen (and ladies since 1981) to its Italian Renaissance-style setting since the 1840s. In The Gentlemen, it also serves as Pinky’s Club, where Eddie meets Stanley Johnston.

Stoke Court, Buckinghamshire

This 15th-century listed house outside London was also used for the interiors of Halstead Manor, including the humiliation of a coked-up chicken-suited Freddy by Liverpool criminal Tommy Dixon.

Printing works, London

Rotherhithe’s Printworks was used for an illegal boxing match that takes place in episode two. Other London filming locations include Billingsgate Market in Canary Wharf, the Sekforde pub in Clerkenwell and the modernist St Paul’s Church in Southwark.
