A 12-year-old girl shines in boys baseball in Wisconsin

At just 12 years old, Teaghan Coffey is already making a name for himself on the baseball field. His talent and skills have earned him the title of a rising star in the sport.

“I love the game. It’s an incredibly entertaining sport with a lot of action,” exclaimed Coffey.

She developed a passion for baseball early in her life.

She explained, “I’ve been playing baseball since I was three or four years old.”

According to Teaghan’s father and coach Joe Coffey, Teaghan first started playing T-ball. When asked why she didn’t want to play softball, Teaghan replied that she thought it was a sport for girls.

Coffey stands out among her peers in Wisconsin as she is one of the few girls her age to participate on select boys’ baseball teams.

Teaghan expressed her dislike of softball, stating that she finds it too girly for her taste.

Teaghan proudly wears the number 44 as a tribute to her beloved player.

A multi-talented player who excels as a pitcher, catcher, and shortstop, as well as a cleanup player for the Junior Lancers, Teaghan’s exceptional skills on the field have drawn attention from both MLB and USA Baseball.

Earlier this year, she was honored to be selected as one of 96 exclusive girls to participate in the prestigious Trailblazer Series.

“It’s an incredible experience all about girls and baseball. We were fortunate enough to receive an invitation to the Jackie Robinson Training Center in Vero Beach, Florida. Over the course of a weekend, we had the opportunity to play and interact with a wonderful group of coaches and players. It was a truly fun and unforgettable time for me,” Teaghan said enthusiastically.

Teaghan has a strong ambition to pursue a career in baseball. Her goal is to play at the high school level and eventually fulfill her dream of playing in the major leagues.
