UGG’s crazy high platform boots are like real Bratz shoes

Looking ahead to the UGG Fall 2024 collection, I wonder: What will be the UGG boot of the season this year?

Let me draw your attention to the star of UGG FW24: a platform boot that looks like it came straight out of the ’70s – and the closet of a Bratz doll.

UGG’s New Heights Platform Xtra stands thigh-high on a chunky base that literally reaches new heights (4.5 inches, to be exact). The boot is then complete with an extended shaft, which reminds me of the coveted Y/Project collaboration and even those zip-off boots that have been disturbing the internet.

The UGG boot features traditional details like the brand’s signature chestnut suede upper and ultra-cozy sheepskin lining. But in addition to the sky-high platform sole, the boots get another stylish update: an all-over patchwork design achieved through asymmetrical double stitching.

With its platform sole and different textures, the New Heights Platform Xtra boot reminds me of my time as a Bratz doll. It literally looks like a real Bratz doll shoe!

UGG’s fall 2024 collection only gets better (and higher) after the towering “Bratz” boot, now available at Nordstrom. The collection also includes a platform Classic Ultra Mini, a mid-cut boot, and fluff-filled clogs, all with tall, chunky soles.

It’s too early to tell if any of these pieces will become the most coveted UGG boot of the season, but it’s safe to assume that UGG’s “New Heights” shoes will catch the attention of those looking for extra support and coziness (I’m looking at you, Sabrina Carpenter).

UGGs have never really gone out of style, as the boots have always been a must-have for the cold season. But the Y2K renaissance brought the 2000s brand back into the spotlight. The classic boot remained at the top and new models, like the low-top platform shoes signed by supermodels, became guaranteed seasonal hits.

If these UGGs really existed, Bratz Jade, Cloe and Yasmin would probably be just as obsessed with them.
