OAKLAND, California. – Klay Thompson returns to the Bay Area on November 12 to face the Golden State Warriors in the 2024 Emirates NBA Cup.

On Tuesday, the NBA released its schedule for Cup Nights, the organization’s second annual in-season competition, with games beginning on Nov. 12 and running through Dec. 3.

Thompson, a former Warrior and four-time NBA champion, will play at Chase Center as a Dallas Maverick after joining the team in July. Thompson will play his first game as a Maverick against the team he left after ending his 13-year career.

The Splash Brother left the Warriors in a sign-and-trade deal after his five-year, $190 million contract expired without the team agreeing to a new contract extension.

Thompson, the Warriors’ shooting guard, was an integral part of the historic dynasty that helped them win four championships in nine years. The organization was able to claim the “Big 3,” meaning Thompson, Steph Curry and Draymond Green.

During his time with the Warriors, he was sidelined for two and a half years due to two major injuries, including a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee and a torn right Achilles tendon while rehabbing from surgery for the first injury.

Thompson’s time with the Mavericks begins later this fall when he faces his old team in the first game of the NBA Cup.

All 30 NBA teams were randomly divided into six groups of five within their conference. Each team plays against the other four teams in its group every Tuesday and Friday.

For the regular season rankings, all 67 games of the NBA Cup are counted, with the exception of the championship.
