How to farm Gimmighoul Coins quickly

Many Pokémon in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are evolved simply by leveling up in battle and reaching certain levels. There are a few exceptions, with certain Pokémon requiring specific items or conditions beyond leveling to obtain them, with Gimmighoul being a prime example.

To evolve Gimmighoul into Gholdengo, players must first collect 999 Gimmighoul Coins. These coins require a lot of exploration and also take many in-game days to get, so it’s best to start right away.

How to farm Gimmighoul Coins quickly

Gimmighoul Coins are awarded by Find Roaming Gimmighoul or Fight Chest Gimmighoul and either defeat them or capture them. Both versions can be found on the towers scattered throughout the Paldea region, and almost every one has a ladder leading from the bottom to the top. After these towers are discovered, they become fast travel points that can be returned to.

To farm Gimmighoul Coins quickly, find and unlock all fourteen of these towers throughout Paldea and then travel to them all every day. After interacting with a Gimmighoul, it will disappear and not reappear until the next game day. A game day lasts 72 minutes, meaning you’re best off starting to collect Gimmighoul Coins right away so you have plenty of game time while you wait for the next game day. There’s also a chance that Gimmighouls will spawn near ruins throughout the region, though this isn’t an easy method of collecting them as ruins are often far from any nearby fast travel location.

Gimmighoul Coin Drop Rates

Roaming Gimmighoul and Chest Gimmighoul have very different respawn rates and coin drop rates. Roaming Gimmighoul are much more common, but usually give the player between 2 and 7 Gimmighoul coins at once, with very rare chances to go beyond this range. Chest Gimmighoul is your best chance to reach 999 Gimmighoul Coins as they can give between 50 and 777 Gimmighoul coins.

Chest Gimmighouls have a very low spawn rate and can be found randomly anywhere in the world. Chest Gimmighouls have a very small chance of reappearing every daybut it is always worth checking the watchtowers and lighthouses every game day.
