Catch the season premiere of Disaster Autopsy, titled “Columbia, Eschede Train, Grenfell Tower,” on Saturday, August 17 at 10 p.m. on the National Geographic Channel.

The first episode will focus on a detailed examination of three major disasters from different fields – space, rail and skyscraper, according to Imdb.com.

According to the website, the production, which recreates real-life disasters in 3D graphics to uncover hidden causes such as errors in paperwork, poor gluing jobs or even changes in restaurant opening hours, will begin with an in-depth look at the tragic Space Shuttle Columbia disaster and examine the technical and human factors that led to the space shuttle’s catastrophic reentry failure.

The Eschede train accident in Germany is then discussed and the causes of one of the deadliest railway accidents in history are listed.

The episode ends with an analysis of the Grenfell Tower fire, shedding light on the factors that contributed to the devastating fire in the London skyscraper.

With each section, viewers gain insight into the root causes and consequences of these disasters, gaining a comprehensive understanding of what went wrong and what lessons can be learned.
