Hyderabad:

A 32-year-old man from Hanamkonda district in the state of Telangana has died in the United States, his relatives said on Saturday, asking the state and Telangana governments for help in bringing his body home.

A Rajesh of Atmakur mandal died in Mississippi, USA. Some of his friends living in the USA informed the family about his death on Thursday and said he died on August 14, while the family is still waiting for clarity about his death.

Rajesh’s mother and other family members were heartbroken when they learned of his death.

“We received a call informing us about the man’s death and asking us to collect his body. We request the central and state governments to help us in handing over Rajesh’s body,” the family members told the media.

Rajesh’s uncle Bikshapathi said Rajesh’s family was financially poor and unable to travel to the US. He also requested the central and state governments to help him in repatriating his body to his native place.

Family members also said they are still not aware of the exact circumstances surrounding Rajesh’s death. While they said he had “high” blood sugar levels and died of a stroke, “we don’t know the cause.”

Rajesh’s father died last year but was unable to attend the funeral, family members said, adding that he had planned to come to his hometown but died suddenly.

“Rajesh had told the family members that he would come back for the first anniversary rituals, but suddenly we got this shocking news,” his uncle said.

After completing his M. Pharma from Hanamkonda, Rajesh went to the US for further studies in 2016. He did his MS and was employed there too, but later lost his job during the COVID pandemic and now seems to be doing some part-time jobs, his uncle added.
