Revel to open a fast-charging hub for electric cars in Los Angeles in 2026

Revel currently only offers electric vehicle charging infrastructure on the other side of the US. The company operates three locations in New York City with a total of 54 fast chargers. Two of these are in Brooklyn and one is in Queens. Revel’s flagship Superhub is in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn. The original plan was to have six locations in the Big Apple by the end of this year.

Currently, there are five more locations on the “NYC locations opening soon” list, with a total of 163 fast chargers. In addition, Reval’s expansion into California will not stop at LA. According to its website, the EV infrastructure company also plans to open charging stations in Northern California, namely in Oakland, San Francisco, and San Jose. However, there is no information on the timeline or the number of chargers planned.

Revel announced in late 2023 that it would focus on its ride-hailing business and installing fast-charging stations. The company previously also operated an electric scooter-sharing business in New York City and San Francisco. In 2022, the company received around $175 million in grant and debt financing to build its fast-charging superhubs across the US.

“Revel is building a portfolio of the largest fast-charging stations in America’s largest cities. We are now officially expanding that reach to LA,” said Frank Reig, co-founder and CEO of Revel, quoted by Charged electric vehicles“Over the next two years, we will deploy 1,000 fast chargers in New York City, the Bay Area and Los Angeles. This infrastructure will close the charging gap in cities and enable everyone to switch to electric vehicles, from rideshare drivers and last-mile delivery fleets to everyday drivers.”
