“The ultimate wife type” or “Yuck”? Mark Zuckerberg unveils 7-foot statue of his wife | Mark Zuckerberg

Mark Zuckerberg has caused a stir by ordering a giant sculpture of his wife Priscilla Chan.

Under a photo of the statue posted on Instagram, the CEO and co-founder of Facebook said he would “revive the Roman tradition of making sculptures of his wife.”

The large sculpture was created by Daniel Arsham, a New York-based artist who has worked with brands such as Tiffany and Dior. Dressed in green, Chan appears to be in mid-stride while a large silver cape billows behind her.

In Zuckerberg’s photo, Chan stands next to the statue, which appears to be about 7 feet tall and is located under a tree. In the comments, Chan wrote: “The more of me the merrier?” along with a heart emoji.

People magazine, which declared Zuckerberg the “ultimate wife type,” reported that in Roman times, statues were sometimes created to honor deceased loved ones or to “point to significant relatives and create meaningful associations.”

The statue received a largely positive response from Zuckerberg’s supporters.

“Oh my god such a beautiful, lucky girl,” one person wrote, while the account “The Billlionaires (sic) Lifestyle,” which posts pictures of rich people and expensive things, posted: “This needs (sic) to (a) museum,” accompanied by applause and fire emojis.

However, not everyone was impressed. Andrew Mwangi wrote: “This is the most billionaire thing ever done,” and a user named Deviletter said: “Oops. That’s pretty unflattering.”

Zuckerberg did not post the photo on Facebook, although he recently posted a video showing him surfing in a tuxedo and holding an American flag.
