A male dingo, believed to be responsible for the attack, is currently being observed by rangers.

K’gari was hit by a series of dingo attacks in 2023.

In early July of the same year, an eight-year-old boy was attacked and in June a ten-year-old boy was dragged underwater by a dingo.
