The following was submitted by Kim McGowen, annual giving chair for the Stanly Health Foundation, host of “Dancing With the Stars” in Stanly County.

Get ready for an exciting performance when Kolby and Mike Hatley take the stage at the 12th annual Dancing with the Stars, with proceeds benefiting Butterfly House Children’s Advocacy Center. This dynamic father-daughter duo will light up the dance floor with their talent and enthusiasm.
Kolby Hatley, a proud Aquadale native, returns to the dance floor with a wealth of experience and passion.
Known for her hip hop skills, Kolby has been dancing for nine years and is excited to show off her moves once again. She is currently in her first year of pharmacy studies at Wingate University and is pursuing a career in clinical pharmacy.
When she’s not immersed in her studies, Kolby enjoys spending time with her friends, family, and her two beloved dogs, Jeter and Maverick. She also enjoys reading and going to race tracks with her boyfriend.
Kolby has previously wowed audiences as part of Team Highly Koal-ified and is excited to be back. She has a little sibling rivalry with her sister Peyton and dances alongside her father Mike. A fun fact about Kolby is that one of her front teeth is artificial, she was born without it.
Mike Hatley is a native of the Aquadale community and a graduate of South Stanly High School.
With his management background at Westrock Coffee (formerly S&D Coffee) in Concord, Mike combines his professional life with his passion for sports, wrestling events and family vacations.
Mike has been married to his wife Jill for 25 years and has two daughters, Peyton and Kolby, and a furry family that includes a dog named Jeter and an awesome pup named Maverick.
Over the past few months, Mike has spent a lot of time learning to dance under the guidance of choreographer Christy T. He would like to thank everyone who supported Team #HatleyHustle and contributed to their fundraising efforts for the Butterfly House.
A fun fact about Mike is that his toenails are always painted.
The event, scheduled for September 7, 2024 at 7 p.m. at the Stanly County Agri-Civic Center, promises an unforgettable evening themed “Magic of Motown.” With 11 talented dance teams preparing to wow the crowd, this is an opportunity to celebrate community spirit and support a great cause.
Tickets are on sale now and all proceeds benefit the Butterfly House Children’s Advocacy Center, which provides essential services to children and families in need.
