Bonnies Men’s Swim & Dive recruits seven new members for 2024-2025

Head Coach for Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving at St. Bonaventure University Michael Smiechowski has announced the addition of seven student-athletes to the Bonnies men’s program for the 2024–25 season.

“I’m very excited about this class and our ability to improve and compete at the top of the Atlantic 10,” said Smiechowski. “Over the last two years, our current athletes have been instrumental in creating a championship culture and laying the foundation for new athletes to step in and compete right away. This class is full of elite athletes who believe in what we do and believe in our vision. It’s going to be an exciting year for our men and women.”

Aidan Kreiley, Mark Mizsei, Connor Peck, Will Parker, Mark Cattron, Quinn Borchers and Josiah Knapp will join the roster for the 2024-25 academic year.

Aidan Kreiley comes to Brown and White as a Louisville graduate. A native of Dansville, NY, he was a four-year member of the Cardinals’ swim program, where he competed in the breaststroke and helped the team to the 2021 ACC Championships. As a junior at the ACC Championships, Kreiley qualified for the B final of the 100 breaststroke and the C final of the 200 breaststroke and also competed in the prelims of the 200 individual medley. As a senior last year, Kreiley was named to the ACC All-Academic Team. He has also spent time with Mercury Swimming. Kreiley will work toward his master’s degree in sports administration at St. Bonaventure.

Career bests: 100 breaststroke: 53.25, 200 breaststroke: 1:53.99, 200 individual medley: 1:50.21

Joining the Bonnies is Mark Mizsei of Budapest, Hungary, who will compete in the butterfly event.

Career best times (LCM): 100 fly: 54.23, 200 fly: 1:58.78

Connor Peck is from Cary, NC and comes to St. Bonaventure from Green Level High School where he competed in the individual medley and 1650m freestyle. Peck has qualified for the Junior National Championship and was named Green Level HS MVP in 2021. He also competed for the North Carolina Aquatic Club and won three silver medals from 2021-2023.

Academically, Peck was an honor roll member in all four years of high school. He plans to study medicine at St. Bonaventure.

Career bests: 200-IM: 1:50.55 400-IM: 3:56.73, 1650-freestyle: 15:52.99

Will Parker joins the Bonnies as a breaststroke swimmer from Lebanon, Pennsylvania.

Parker swam the breaststroke leg of two YMCA National Champion 200 medley relay teams with the York YMCA. In school, Parker was selected as a USA Swimming Scholastic All-American and plans to study education.

Career bests: 50 breaststroke: 25.75, 100 breaststroke: 55.75, 50 freestyle: 21.00, 100 freestyle: 46.66

Mark Cattron comes to St. Bonaventure from Sharon, Pennsylvania.

Cattron was a freestyle swimmer for Sharon High School, where he qualified for the PIAA four times. Cattron was a four-time PIAA All-State selection and was a four-time finalist at the PIAA Championships. As a senior in 2024, Cattron finished fourth in the 200m freestyle and eighth in the 100m freestyle. Also in 2024, at the District 10 Championships, he was first to touch the wall in the 200m freestyle and finished second in the 100m freestyle. He currently holds the District 10 record in the 200m freestyle.

He was named Region 1 Swimmer of the Year three times and was selected to the Region 1 first team three times. He also holds the Region 1 record in the 200 freestyle and 200 individual medley. Cattron was captain of the varsity team for three years.

He is a member of the National Honor Society and received the George Eastman Young Leaders Award. At St. Bonaventure, he will study kinesiology.

Career best times: 100 freestyle: 46.84, 200 freestyle: 1:40.94

Quinn Borchers is from Medfield, Mass. and from Medfield Senior High School and joins Brown and White as a freestyle, backstroke and medley swimmer.

Borchers has spent time with the Bluefish Swim Club, Kingfish Swimming Medfield and Shawmut Aquatic Club. He is a multiple winner of New England events and was a finalist at the Junior National Championships. He plans to study exercise science or kinesiology at St. Bonaventure.

Career bests: 200 butterfly: 1:51.61, 200 backstroke: 1:49.89, 200 individual medley: 1:52.71, 400 individual medley: 4:00.77

Josiah Knapp comes to the Bonnies as a diver from Mesa, Arizona and Skyline High School.

Best results of career: 1 m – 485.60, 3 m – 460.90
