Some of the biggest women’s football teams travel to Western Australia in September for the Perth International Football Cup.

With women’s football continuing to grow in popularity since last year’s Women’s World Cup, the four-match mini-tournament represents a fantastic opportunity for Australian football fans to see some of the Matildas’ star players straight after the Olympics, as well as some of the other stars of the women’s game.

The sports news has all the details on the teams that will be participating in the Perth International Football Cup.

Who is playing in the Perth International Football Cup?

Four European clubs are taking part in the Perth International Football Cup, three from England and one from France.

English Women’s Super League (WSL) sides Man City, West Ham United and Leicester City will come Down Under, giving players such as Matildas stars Mary Fowler, Alanna Kennedy and Katrina Gorry the opportunity to represent their clubs in their home country.

Also joining Manchester City’s squad will be Jamaican star striker Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw, who Australian fans will know from representing her country at the World Cup last year.

The last team is Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), which is trying to become one of the biggest clubs in France and dethrone Olympique Lyon.

Where is the Perth International Football Cup played?

The Perth International Football Cup is played at HBF Park in Perth.

The stadium hosted matches at the Women’s World Cup last year and the city has recently hosted many high-profile friendlies, attracting teams from England as the city is closer to the stadium boundary than the rest of Australia.

Perth International Football Cup draw, dates and schedule

The two semi-finals will be played on Wednesday, August 28 and Thursday, August 29. Both matches will start at 18:15 local time.

The doubleheader will then take place on Sunday, September 1st. The opening game begins at 2:05 p.m. local time, with the final following at 5:05 p.m.
