The plot moves at the right pace

Last week, TThe Snake Queen Season 2, episode 5 was definitely my favorite episode! The plot was exciting and moved the story forward in a really fascinating way. The Snake Queen However, in season 2, episode 6, “Courting the Valois,” the plot progresses more slowly.

But that doesn’t mean it wasn’t entertaining. To be honest, episode 5 is still the best for me. But the sixth episode of the season also showed again how cunning the royals are to get what they want. And that’s definitely one of my favorite themes in historical royal dramas!

The Serpent Queen - Season 2 2024

I find it very interesting that the show decided to bring Queen Elizabeth to the French court. It adds another element of excitement and in this episode we got to see the impact her arrival has on everyone. Catherine wants her children to behave so they can all act as one. But of course Charles and Anjou can’t help but stay in competition together. And Elizabeth recognizes this immediately and uses it to her advantage.

What I like about this season is that it focuses on three strong women who all have power in their hands – Catherine, Elizabeth and even Edith. Maybe some of them get a little out of control, but they have all the power in their hands in their own way. And that’s really cool to see, especially during this time.

The Serpent Queen - Season 2 2024

I am not surprised that Elizabeth tried to play the brothers off against each other. However, I was shocked that Charles is now sick and coughing up blood. Poor Catherine. How many children will she lose? Overall, I think The Snake Queen Season 2, Episode 6 was good. There are a lot of plot points that are slowly developing and probably setting up what will happen in the final two episodes. After all, we’ve already reached the penultimate episode next week. Let the climax of the drama begin!

The sixth episode moves the plot forward in a good way, setting up more challenges for Catherine and revealing the intentions of many characters. However, I’m ready for things to pick up again. I know this series will throw a few more unexpected twists at us. Episode rating level: BCome back next week when we’ll do a review. The Snake Queen Season 2, Episode 7, “A House Divided”.

The Snake Queen Season 2 will be broadcast/streamed on Fridays on Starz.
