Chick-fil-A submits plans to build a restaurant in Glasgow
GLASGOW, Kentucky (WBKO) – A new Chick-fil-A could open in Glasgow, potentially expanding the local dining scene.
Plans filed with the Barren County Clerk’s Office just before 1:30 p.m. Wednesday show the proposed restaurant would be located just off NL Rogers Wells Boulevard near the Stonehenge Apartments and Magnolia Drive.
City and county joint planning director Kevin Myatt told WBKO on Friday that more steps are needed before construction can begin.
The 11-acre property, owned by Columbia-based Splash Car Wash Inc., was originally intended to house storage units, but those plans never came to fruition.
Myatt said there are two connecting elements associated with the property: a residential area near Magnolia Drive must be preserved, and no traffic or driveways should be created on Lot 1, which borders Magnolia Drive.
According to Myatt, the restaurant will be built on Lot 3, closest to the Stonehenge Apartments, with an entrance and exit on NL Rogers Wells Boulevard.
Myatt also said the city-county joint planning commission must approve the rezoning of Lots 2 and 3 from industrial to commercial before the project can proceed.
Young-Hobbs and Associates of Clarksville, Tennessee, completed the land survey.
For months, a Chick-fil-A food truck has been stopping in Glasgow and regularly attracting large crowds.
Chick-fil-A has not yet responded to a request for comment.
