Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson to star in Die My Love: Cast, Plot, Release Date

Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson will be seen together on screen for the first time, but don’t expect this to be anything dusk X Hunger Gamess crossover fantasy. The two A-list celebrities are working with Lynne Ramsay, the critically acclaimed and often challenging Scottish director of We need to talk about Kevinin an adaptation of Die, my lovea 2019 novel of the same name by Argentinian author Ariana Harwicz.

Who is in the Die, my love pour?

Lawrence and Pattinson are the two main actors. After a short break from acting, Oscar winner Lawrence is making about one film a year, starting with the 2021 climate change dramedy Don’t look up alongside Leonardo DiCaprio, followed by the 2022 army veteran drama dam. Last year she plunged back into the world of comedy with a raunchy romantic comedy No hard feelings.

Pattinson, for his part, has been a regular in Christopher Nolan’s principle in 2020. Since then, he has played the titular superhero in Matt Reeves The Batmanand is currently working on parasite Director Bong Joon Ho’s next film, a science fiction thriller Mickey 17.

Lakeith Stanfield by Atlanta Fame, is rumored to be in talks to take part in the project. The film’s official logline states: “Set in a remote, forgotten rural area, the story follows a mother struggling to maintain her sanity while battling psychosis.”

Written in the stream-of-consciousness style, Harwicz’s debut novel was a finalist for the 2018 Man Booker International Prize. Set in the French countryside, the unnamed protagonist, a wife and mother of a newborn son, struggles with feelings of being trapped in her predetermined roles and seeks relief through increasingly unpredictable means, including an affair. The New Yorkers has classified the book as belonging to the literary genre “motherhood horror”, which seems appropriate according to the official description.

In an interview with diversityRamsay said, “It’s about mental health… and the breakdown of a marriage. But it’s really bloody funny. At least I think it’s funny… But I’m from Glasgow, so I have a really dark sense of humour.” Ramsay is known for films that focus more on vivid moods (think: sights, sounds, feelings) than expository storytelling (dialogue, set pieces) – which might give a clue as to Die, my love Direction.

Who else is involved?

The film is produced by Justine Ciarrocchi, Nick O’Hagan and Martin Scorsese. Lawrence will also reportedly star in Scorsese’s upcoming Frank Sinatra biopic alongside DiCaprio.

Ramsay, for her part, has made four films over the course of her 24-year career: Pied Piper, Morvern Callar, We need to talk about Kevinand 2017 You were never really here.

When will Die, my love be released?

There’s no official release date for the film yet, but rumors have it set to premiere at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival. That might make sense, considering all of Ramsay’s films have screened at the festival, where she’s a longtime member of the main competition jury.
