Remove limescale deposits in the toilet “in seconds” with a groundbreaking household item

Limescale deposits are a common household problem and can occur around taps, on shower screens, in bathtubs and in appliances such as kettles and washing machines.

Limescale deposits are more common in areas with hard water such as London and the south-east of England.

Removing limescale from the toilet without using harsh chemicals can be difficult as the substance is usually stubborn and unpleasant.

One person who struggled with limescale buildup in the toilet was Facebook user Lisa Ruskin. Desperate to get rid of the unsightly stains, she asked an online cleaning community for a solution.

Lisa Ruskin asked the Facebook group “Mrs Hinch Cleaning Tips”: “What is the best way to remove limescale/rust stains from toilets?”

The post was flooded with responses ranging from using white vinegar to Harpic Black, but one of the most commonly suggested natural methods was using a toilet pumice stone.

Clare Bridget Jones said: “Toilet pumice. Gone in seconds.”

Tammera Vaux agreed, writing: “This is what I use too! It’s like a magic wand!”

Clare Bridget Jones commented: “This is indeed Tammera Vaux. A total game changer. I get mine from Temu. And they only cost a few cents too!”

JC Rodriguez replied, “Pour out a bucket of water so no water goes into the toilet, fill it with vinegar, let it sit overnight, get a pumice stone, put on gloves and scrape it off.”

Paula Lewis also suggested: “Pumice stone. You can buy it with handles for the toilet.”

Toilet pumice stones can be purchased from Temu for 79p each, from Amazon for £5 and from B&Q for £6.99.

Other suggestions from Mrs Hinch fans included using Viakal, Cola and Harpic Black.

Jessica Wakefield said: “Harpic Black and leave overnight if possible. This is incredible stuff.”

Alexandra McDonnell commented: “Viakal. Squeeze all the water out of the toilet base, spray Viakal and spray. Leave it for a while, then brush around and flush. Repeat. Spray again if necessary.”

Samantha Jonson responded to the post: “Cheap Coke dumping overnight.”
