Yesterday was a big day in the NBA world as all the teams’ official schedules were released, which is always a lot of fun for fans. You read through them and realistically predict how things will play out and somehow come to the conclusion that an 82-0 season is in store. You look for certain rivalry games, long road trips, etc. and it’s a great way to get in the mood for another exciting NBA season.

And then, of course, there’s Nikola Jokic. What are the odds this guy even has a clue that the schedule was just released? I’d say 0.0%.

While this isn’t quite the same “Summer Of Jokic” we saw from him right after his NBA title, it’s pretty damn close. From dominating the Olympics and winning a bronze medal, to getting completely drunk before the medal ceremony and then having an absolute homecoming celebration, we now have what looks like some sort of wedding/party. No one is loving life more right now than Nikola Jokic and every time one of these videos comes out I just have to laugh.

What you’re seeing here is not only the best basketball player in the world, but maybe the best guy in the business getting drunk while dancing and taking his shirt off. You know it probably killed him to have to keep his shirt on and do the unbuttoning move instead.

This phenomenon has been going on for years now and the best thing about these videos to me is just the visuals. It’s not like Jokic is a normal sized guy. He’s a giant. While the rest of the league is in the gym getting ready for the season, Jokic is partying like crazy like it’s his superpower. After watching this for so many years, I’m starting to believe he has the same ability as James Harden, that partying/going to the club actually makes him stronger. Because make no mistake, Jokic will definitely come back with that goatee this season and easily put up 26/11/10 with great efficiency while most likely winning MVP with ease. He’s inevitable.

I know there’s a lot of uncertainty for the Nuggets entering this year after losing another key rotation player in KCP and now having to rely on a bunch of unproven young players on the bench. They brought in Russell Westbrook, which hasn’t really worked for any team that’s made that move before them. Jamal Murray looks beyond done. There are definitely a lot of questions. But as a Nuggets fan, this video would make me as cool as a cucumber. Does Jokic look worried? No, not in the slightest. Because deep down he knows that as long as he shows up, the Nuggets will be good..

Unless Jamal Murray really can’t get back to his old form and the team ties him to the $200 million extension. If that happens and he doesn’t get back to his 2022 form, they’re in trouble.
