Further details were not immediately available.

Bloomquist is a California native who moved to East Tennessee in the 1980s to pursue a career in dirt racing.

“Scott and I were rivals for many years, but we always had a lot of respect for each other as competitors. It’s hard to believe,” Rocket Chassis Racing posted on its X account on behalf of Rocket founder Mark Richards. “I saw him race at Kingsport Speedway in 1983. I knew he was different that day. I’m glad Scott and I have had many conversations over the last few years to confirm the respect we had for each other. The racing world lost one of the best it ever saw today. Prayers for the Bloomquist family.”
