Amgen and MinuteClinic offer free LDL-C tests

High LDL-C, or “bad cholesterol,” is a leading, modifiable risk factor for heart attack and stroke. Yet many people are unaware of their high LDL levels because they have no symptoms. That’s the view of Amgen, which has helped thousands of people take important steps to learn more about their heart health over the past year with its free LDL-C testing program.

As part of this effort, Amgen is making it even easier for communities across the country to increase access to cholesterol testing. Individuals can now get a free LDL-C test at approximately 1,000 MinuteClinic locations located in select CVS pharmacies across the country.

Amgen will also continue to offer free LDL-C home and lab testing for people who sign up. For more information on all LDL-C testing options, visit WhatismyLDL.com.

“Through the collaborative efforts of cardiovascular organizations and experts, we have helped thousands of people receive free LDL-C testing, provided improved cardiovascular care to millions of patients, and accelerated programs that eliminate disparities in heart health. This initiative is another example of how we are advancing our ambitious goal to reduce the number of heart attacks and strokes by half by 2030,” said Murdo Gordon, Executive Vice President, Global Commercial Operations at Amgen.
