Amitabh Bachchan recalls sleeping on the floor during difficult times and reveals his first salary
Amitabh Bachchan is currently hosting the popular television show Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 16. In the quiz show, the veteran actor is always seen chatting and sharing some of his experiences with the contestants and the audience. In a recent episode, Big B recalled his difficult days and revealed his very first salary. He stated that in the initial days of his career, he lived with 8 people in a single room. Bachchan also said that it used to be fun as there were a lot of arguments among the roommates about who would sleep in the bed as there were only two beds.
During a conversation with Big B, MPSC aspirant Krishna Selukar said that eight people live together in his room in Pune. To this, Amitabh replied, “8 log ek kamre mei (8 people in a room?) 8 se hume etna zyada aashcharya nai. Hum joh apna College se padhai karke nikle toh naukri dhundne nikle, toh hum Kolkata gaye, waha kisi tarah se naukri mil gayi. ₹400 Mahine Ke. Waha par bhi sir hum jaha reh rahe thei na, 8 log ek kamre mei thei. (It doesn’t surprise me that 8 people live in a room. When I finished my studies and started looking for a job, I ended up in Kolkata where I found a job which paid me ₹400 a month. Even there, I lived with 8 people in a room).”
(It was a lot of fun as we were only eight years old and there were only two beds. We would slept on the floor, sometimes on the bed. There would be arguments as to who should sleep on the bed or on the floor),” the veteran actor added.
