Another race, another driver change for one of the two teams that have split a charter car between multiple drivers for the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season.

Cody Ware has competed in the last two and four of the last five races for his father’s Rick Ware Racing team, driving the No. 15 Ford also driven this year by Kaz Grala and Riley Herbst.

In his sixth start of the season, Ware finished fourth in the Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Daytona International Speedway last Saturday night – his career high so far.

However, he will not be back behind the wheel of the No. 15 Ford next Sunday night at the Cook Out Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway.

Grala, who leads all other drivers with 15 starts behind the wheel of the No. 15 Ford this year, will return this Sunday for the 366-lap race on the 1.366-mile (2.198-kilometer), four-turn, egg-shaped track in Darlington, South Carolina. It will be his first start since early July, when he drove the car on the Chicago Street Course.

Grala is expected to compete in most of the 10 upcoming playoff races, although only the road race at Watkins Glen International in mid-September is currently confirmed on his schedule.

Ware has no further starts scheduled for the 2024 season, although it was said he would compete in 10 races this year, so he will likely compete in four more before the season ends. Herbst has no further starts scheduled for the 2024 season.

The other charter car shared by multiple drivers in the 2024 season is Kaulig Racing’s No. 16 Chevrolet. Shane van Gisbergen, who made his fifth start of the year at Daytona, will return for the second of four consecutive starts at Darlington.
