Unless you’re as stupid as Noor, you won’t want to miss this. I parry everything Episode 9. This beautiful idiot has proven himself to be one of the most powerful beings in the kingdom, even a Dragon of Calamity has submitted to him. Will Noor ever understand his strength?

We love to root for an underdog, but we also love to see the best of the best show us what they can do. With Noor, you get both! This wonderful fool has such a deep-rooted belief that he is weak and worthless that he can’t even comprehend that he has become one of the strongest adventurers in the land. Week after week, we see him looking forward to adventure after years of isolation, seclusion and training.

Bring on episode 9!

The next episode of I parry everything will air on August 29th and in episode 8 we will see the reaction to Noor’s overwhelming victory. Maybe Noor will finally understand that he is not as weak and pathetic as he has convinced himself.

This show is a wonderful mix of light-hearted comedy with a dash of darkness. The anime is based on the light novel by Nabeshiki with illustrations by Kawaguchi and is very beautiful to watch. After being adapted as a manga in 2020, it was announced that it will also be adapted as an anime in 2023, with the first episode scheduled to release in July 2024.

Remind us what happened last?

In Episode 8, Noor took on the Dragon of Disaster that was threatening the Clays Kingdom, seemingly under orders from King Deridas of the Magical Empire of Deridas. Here we are given some backstory as to why this is happening, with the King expressing that the people who sent the dragon want access to Clay’s vault. The King was about to sacrifice himself when he was hurled into battle with the help of Ines and Lynnes’ magic (we still don’t know why he didn’t get whiplash).

Despite his colossal size, Noor did not believe the dragon would be so difficult to defeat and was able to easily parry his attacks, tearing off his scales and claws. The dragon was angry that he was not seriously fought and after his fang was knocked out, he lost his will to fight and submitted to Noor.

What will Noor do with his new pet now? A Dragon of Calamity is quite a boon for future adventures and an asset to the Clay Kingdom. To find out, you’ll just have to watch episode 9, available on Hidive starting August 29th.
