Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars release duet “Die With a Smile” – Music News

Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars have released their new duet “Die With a Smile”.

The couple had been promoting their collaboration on social media over the past few days and finally released the ballad on Thursday evening (15.08.24).

In the song, Bruno sings the first verse before Gaga takes over the second and the two support each other on vocals for the rest of the song.

The music video is set in the style of 1970s Nashville. The two artists wear light blue suits and red shirts, while Gaga sings the last verse with a cigarette between her teeth.

The “Poker Face” singer explained that it was Mars who asked her if they wanted to perform the song together.

Gaga, 38, said: “Bruno and I have a lot of respect for each other and talked about collaborating. I was finishing up my own album in Malibu and one night after a long day he asked me to come to his studio to listen to something he was working on.

“It was about midnight when I got there and I was blown away when I heard what he had started doing. We stayed up all night finishing writing and recording the song.

“Bruno’s talent is indescribable. His musicality and vision are on a whole new level. There is no one like him.”

The “Leave the Door Open” singer said in his own statement: “It was an honor to work with Gaga. She is an icon and brings magic to the song. I’m so happy for everyone to hear it.”

Gaga is currently hard at work on her latest album – a follow-up to 2020’s Chromatica – and compared the process of making music to meditation.

On Instagram, she captioned a series of black-and-white studio snapshots: “Just me in the studio – happy as always making music.”

“Feel so grateful, my heart is peaceful. It’s like meditation.

“I can’t wait for you to hear what I’m working on.”
