Montana State women hire former Carroll player Maddie Geritz as assistant

BOZEMAN – Maddie Geritz, a former Carroll College basketball standout, has joined the Montana State women’s program as a graduate assistant, Bobcat head coach Tricia Binford announced Wednesday.

Geritz, who finished her career with the Saints last winter, spent five seasons in Helena and played in 122 games. The 6-foot-2 forward from Boise, Idaho, scored 946 points and grabbed 476 rebounds as Carroll College won three Frontier Conference regular season titles. Geritz’s tenure with the Saints ended with a Final Four appearance in the 2023 NAIA Tournament.

“We are excited to have Maddie as part of our women’s basketball coaching staff,” said Binford. “She comes from an outstanding program that has had a lot of success. Maddie is a servant leader, a winner, a champion and someone who truly invests her time in others. Her selfless nature really fits with the core values ​​of our program.”

Outside of sports, Geritz was heavily involved in student-athlete life, serving as vice president of the NAIA Association of Student-Athletes. She was also president of the Carroll College Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

Geritz earned a Bachelor of Arts in elementary and special education last spring. She is a four-time All-Frontier Conference Academic selection.
