NYPD is searching for a group of teenage girls from New York who randomly attacked a 76-year-old man on a subway platform in Brooklyn
A group of young teenagers randomly attacked an elderly man on a subway platform in Brooklyn early Monday morning – at least one of the attackers hit the victim with a scooter, police and police sources reported.
According to authorities, the 76-year-old man was lying on a bench in the Rockaway Avenue subway station when the five suspects attacked him around 2:10 a.m., punching and kicking him in the head.
One of the perpetrators even hit the man in the head with her scooter. According to sources, this was an unprovoked attack on the platform of the northbound C line.
The perpetrators are said to be between 16 and 20 years old, police said.
According to police, there were six young women in the group, five of whom were involved in the attack. They all then fled the station on foot.
The victim was taken to hospital in stable condition.
The NYPD released surveillance images of the five suspects, including one dressed all in black riding a scooter on the platform.
In the hope of catching the violent group, authorities have offered a reward of up to $3,500.
