A grand jury in Florida has indicted a man on multiple counts in connection with the death of a 13-year-old Orange County girl.

Jerry Dorisme, 28, was charged with first-degree murder, kidnapping with intent to inflict bodily harm or to terrorize with a weapon, sexual assault with a deadly weapon or physical force, and attempted sexual assault with a deadly weapon or physical force.

Authorities said Dorisme murdered Rose Dieujuste in an apartment complex near Orlando on July 4. Surveillance video shows Dorisme purchasing a knife and walking in the same area as the victim, investigators said.

Video footage from the Palmetto Lakeside Complex, where Rose and her family lived, shows Dorisme running behind Rose at a distance just minutes before she was killed, officials said.

Deputies responded to a call at the apartment complex, where they found Rose stabbed and partially naked in a storage room. She was taken to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.

After an investigation, officers identified Dorisme as a suspect. A week later, detectives tracked him down and arrested him. The state presented enough evidence to the grand jury to indict Dorisme on all counts.
