Episode 1: A Touch of Shakespeare

The season opens with a twist: Camille’s younger brother (yes, the one Emily slept with) has turned into a TikTok storyteller and exposed all of last season’s drama online. Vengeance best served globally, I guess. Meanwhile, Emily’s life remains as chaotic as ever, juggling her eclectic style (which has definitely gotten better this season) and the never-ending drama of showing up exactly where she needs to be (or not). It seems like Emily has emerged this season as Shakespeare’s Hamlet reincarnated – to be or not to be, to meddle or not to meddle, to finally be with Chef Gabriel or to return to his British lover Alfie. That is the question.

Emily and Gabriel share a tender cooking moment that screams domestic bliss – but of course that is Emily in Parisso nothing is ever that simple. And the icing on the cake? Alfie’s dramatic reappearance at Gabriel’s workplace – now there’s suspense!

Episode 2: The Art of Longing

The season premiere of Emily in Paris Season 4 left viewers on edge with Camille’s sudden disappearance. Episode 2, aptly titled Love on the run follows the cast as they search for Camille. Mindy and Emily scour social media and eventually suspect that Camille is traveling to Greece with her secret lover Sofia. Eventually, Gabriel finds out about Camille’s affair and tensions rise. Emily realizes that Camille is hiding in Giverny and although the girls literally have a fight, they end up having a private conversation. At the end of the episode, Gabriel is left behind, reconciling with Sofia as he explains that he knows what it’s like to fall in love with someone else. *sigh*

Episode 3: Boats and Masquerades

This episode was a highlight for me. First off, Luc lives on a houseboat? Definitely very characterful. Luc secretly hanging up a Michelin woman’s lingerie in a houseboat? Even better – we think that’s great for you, Luc. Meanwhile, this episode brings us the stunning masquerade ball, where the theme of pretending to be someone else is on full display. Early in the episode, Emily realises that things would only work between her and Gabriel if they were other people. Then comes the masquerade ball – and that’s exactly what they get to do. Emily is thrown into a whirlwind of emotions when Alfie arrives first, determined to win her back with a dance. Just when everything seems to be falling into place, Gabriel appears and the atmosphere changes.

Emily and Gabriel cannot resist the attraction between them and agree to pretend to be someone else for one night – Anna and David. It is a bittersweet moment that captures the essence of their complicated relationships and the masks they wear to navigate them. In the end, they leave the party – where Alfie sees them – with more heartbreak and travel in a carriage. It seems as though this masked ball Bridgerton an uphill battle. The scene is both romantic and heartbreaking, reflecting their ongoing struggle – can they really be together or are they destined to play roles in each other’s lives that never quite fit?

Episode 4: Sylvie’s story

Our absolute favorite in the first part of this season is Sylvie. Her backstory takes center stage and is everything we hoped it would be. With everything going on around her, we finally get hints about her past and how she exposes Louis in her time. This episode gives us a deeper look into her life and we get to know her iconic mother, whose influence definitely explains Sylvie’s trademark sass and sharpness. While I absolutely love her dynamic with Laurent G – who wouldn’t? I can’t help but notice some subtle hints that hint at an unresolved affair with Antoine. Could there be more to this story? I guess we’ll have to see that in Part 2.

Episode 5: Michelin stars and unexpected twists

Episode 5 of Emily in Paris is a whirlwind of revelations and relationship tension. Camille tries to return the engagement ring she found while unwrapping, but Gabriel insists she keep it, explaining that they’re still family. The situation becomes more complicated when Sofia becomes incredibly uncomfortable and senses unresolved feelings between Camille and Gabriel. Shocking, anyone? At the end of the episode, Sofia decides to leave Paris. I guess that didn’t last very long.

Meanwhile, Luc’s plan to impress Sylvie in the hopes of getting a raise backfires when Marianne is exposed as a fraud. Honestly, I didn’t see that coming. Good job, Em in Paris. The real shocker? Major spoiler: Camille isn’t even pregnant. Give me a minute to process that.

What happens next? Well, now Camille could be living happily ever after with Sofia in Greece. Only Camille decides to keep this truth from Gabriel. You might be wondering why. That’s exactly what we hope to find out in part 2 of The Last Man. Emily in Pariswhich premieres on September 12th.

Electricity Emily in Paris Season 4 Part 1 is now on Netflix. There are five episodes so far, Part 2 is expected to premiere on September 12, 2024. Currently Emily in Paris has a rating of 6.9/10 on IMDb. It was first broadcast in 2020.
