Southwest Airlines offers direct flights from Sacramento to a popular sun-worship destination: Tucson, Arizona.

The airline will launch new nonstop service between Sacramento International Airport and Tucson International Airport in the spring, Tucson airport officials announced Wednesday.

“We are very pleased” that the two airports will be served by nonstop flights from Southwest Airlines and Alaska Airlines, said Danette Bewley, president and CEO of the Tucson Airport Authority, in a press release.

When do direct flights from Sacramento to Tucson City depart?

Direct flights from Sacramento to Tucson begin on Saturday, March 8 and are available on Saturdays and Sundays.

What other airlines offer nonstop flights to Arizona?

Southwest Airlines is not the only airline that offers direct flights from Sacramento to Tucson.

Alaska Airlines announced in July that it would add 18 direct flights for the winter travel season, including four new nonstop routes departing from Sacramento International Airport.

As The Bee previously reported, direct flights to Tucson will be available daily between January 6 and April 21.

During this time, Alaska Airlines also offers nonstop flights to Orlando, Los Cabos and Puerto Vallarta in Mexico.
