Summary of the first round of the Carabao Cup

The Carabao Cup welcomes the remaining Premier League teams for the third round draw after several exciting second round matches this week.

Liverpool are looking to defend the trophy they won last season under Jürgen Klopp. They are joined by Manchester City, Arsenal, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea and Aston Villa.

The first cup competition of the season will be exciting with several interesting matches and the possibility of surprises as the teams from the lower leagues vie for a place in the fourth round.

The last round saw big wins for Brighton, Everton and Crystal Palace, while Watford continued their perfect start to the season, beating Plymouth after three consecutive league wins and now joint top of the Championship.
