The “finale” of the heartbreaking episode “To the Moon” starts next month – Digitally Downloaded
To the Moon is one of those games that will stay with you for quite a while. So long, in fact, that it’s getting a new episode 13+ years after its initial release. A remake was released for iOS/Android in 2007, and after a complete re-development using Unity, the game launched for Nintendo Switch in 2020. Until now, PlayStation and Xbox users have been left out. Which brings me to the first part of today’s news: To the Moon is being ported to PlayStation 5 and Xbox. Those who have already played – and perhaps explored the rest of the series (Finding Paradise, Imposter Factory) – can also look forward to the beach episode, coming in a few weeks! It’s not DLC, it’s its own game. The entire title is technically “Just a beach episode of the To The Moon series,” but that’s such a tongue twister.
In “To the Moon,” Dr. Rosalene and Dr. Watts perform surgeries on people on their deathbed who, as they take their last breath, remember a perfect life. They are working to fulfill the dream of an elderly man, Johnny. As they travel further back in time, a new fragment of Johnny’s past is revealed. They are curious and want to find out why Johnny’s final wish is to go to the moon.
The current port of To the Moon is being handled by Serenity Forge. They also sell a premium collectible, the To the Moon Memory Globe. It is a high-quality glass globe with multi-colored star glitter and blue light to simulate night. Pre-orders will be available next week through Serenity Forge.
The beach episode is a season finale of sorts. (The Mystery!) The Sigcorp crew heads to the Golden Lobster Resort for an all-inclusive vacation, but only for one day. Players will see familiar faces from To the Moon, Finding Paradise, and Imposter Factory. The game features mini-games, mystery, and relaxation. But the dead are returning… what’s going on?
“The Beach Episode” was developed and published by Freebird Games and will be released on September 20th for PC.
