Police in North Texas: 9-year-old boy who missed school found unharmed

GRAPEVINE, Texas (KWTX) – UPDATE: Grapevine police said missing 9-year-old Zavien Keyes was found unharmed.

According to police, he was found near the location where he was first reported missing at around 2:50 p.m.

“We would like to thank our amazing community for their support and help in locating this little boy,” police said on Facebook. “We also thank the numerous partner agencies who responded so quickly to assist in this search effort.”

Grapevine Police issued a local Amber Alert asking the public for help in locating a missing 9-year-old boy who did not make it to school Wednesday morning.

Zavien Keyes is described by police as a “black male, 4 feet 5 inches tall, 90 pounds.”

He was last seen wearing a black shirt with a gold Spider-Man motif and green pants. He may also have been carrying a blue backpack.

Authorities are currently searching the area near the child’s home along Mustang Drive and Tanglewood. “If you live in the area or own a business, Grapevine Police are asking residents and business owners to check their doorbell or security cameras for possible sightings,” a Facebook post said.

Family members say Zavien missed his bus on Tuesday morning and walked from his home to Glenhope Elementary School, but he never arrived at school.
