“Gossip Girl” actress Jessica Szohr honors “best maid of honor” Nina Dobrev after her wedding in Arizona

Jessica Szohr raves about her maid of honor Nina Dobrev.

The gossip Girl The 39-year-old alumna shared a heartfelt message on Instagram shortly after tying the knot with former Vancouver Canucks player Brad Richardson.

“The best maid of honor!” Szohr captioned a carousel of pictures showing Dobrev at the wedding. “I can’t thank you enough, Nina (sick in a good way)! You gave it your all – and I was so thrilled to have you by my side :)”

Szohr continued, “You were thoughtful and creative! You were charming and funny (as always)! You picked amazing locations and gave everyone such amazing gifts when we arrived 🙂 You’ve been there for me through thick and thin for almost two decades… so thank you… thank you, Nina, for everything you’ve done during our friendship – but especially for all the wedding events ;)”

“You have outdone yourself… you’ve survived surgery, released a movie, renovated a house, and been such an amazing friend through it all. Seriously – I love you more than you’ll ever know!” Szohr wrote, adding that Dobrev’s welcoming speech was “on a whole new level.”

“You just continued to support us with a lot of energy and joy 😉 Thank you, sister,” she added.

Szohr played Vanessa Abrams in gossip Girl In the same years, Dobrev played the role of Elena Gilbert in The Vampire Diaries.

Dobrev was one of several CW stars who attended Szohr and Richardson’s picturesque wedding at the luxury Pine Canyon Golf Club in Flagstaff, Arizona, surrounded by 150 of their closest family and friends.

The bride wore three different Galia Lahav dresses on her big day, including the designer’s Tokyogown, which was described in a press release to PEOPLE as “a fashionable, bold look” that “perfectly reflected her personality.” Szohr paired the dress with a custom veil designed by Galia Lahav’s head designer Sharon Sever, which also featured a special crystal-embellished quote from her grandfather that read, “Take time to smell the roses.”

Szohr and Richardson went Instagram official in 2019 and welcomed their first child together, daughter Bowie Ella Richardson, nearly two years later on January 11, 2021.

The couple happily announced their engagement in May 2022 with a black-and-white photo on Instagram that clearly showed off her diamond ring.
