Teenagers confess to drug trafficking after death of 16-year-old girl

A man has admitted supplying MDMA to a group of teenagers, including a 16-year-old schoolgirl who died after collapsing in an Exeter nightclub.

James Greaves, 18, of Hatt, Cornwall, admitted being involved in the supply of MDMA to several young people between 23 November and 3 December 2022.

Taylor Rowsell, 18, of Rosebery Road, Exmouth, Devon, had previously admitted the same charge of trafficking Class A drugs between the same dates.

Lucy Hill, 16, died in December 2022 after taking MDMA and collapsing at Move nightclub on Exeter Quay. Both men were released on bail and will be sentenced at Exeter Crown Court on October 18.

An 18-year-old woman, who was also arrested on suspicion of trafficking Class A drugs, received an adult caution.

No further police action was taken against another 18-year-old woman.

Exmouth Community College had previously published an online tribute to Lucy, saying she was “a kind, considerate and beautiful person” who was “always smiling and looking out for others”.
