Instagram has introduced new tools for creators that give them more creative flexibility when creating content. The launch includes new text animations, unique fonts, and effects for Instagram Reels and Stories. The social media platform also allows text and stickers to be added to photos and carousels intended for the feed. With these changes, creators can express themselves and their ideas in their own unique way, regardless of the format in which they create content.

In a blog post, Instagram announced that new fonts, text animations, and effects can now be added to Instagram Reels and Stories. Users simply need to open the text tool and tap the text button to see the new fonts. Once the selection is complete, they can further tweak it by adding an effect or animating it.

The new fonts can also be used in stories and photo carousels. In addition, Instagram now also allows users to add layered images via stickers on the above formats. To try this out, users need to select an image they want to upload from the device’s media library and tap the text button. Additional images can be layered using the gallery button that appears in the top right corner of the screen.

Users can also change the shape of the sticker from round to rectangular or even unusual shapes like a heart or star by tapping.

Other recent changes

This development builds on several recent changes introduced on the platform that improve convenience and allow users to express themselves better and more freely. These include expanding the carousel limit to 20 photos or videos, eliminating the need to split media collections on Instagram into multiple posts.

The social media platform has also partnered with US-based singer and actress Sabrina Carpenter to introduce the Song in Profile feature. As the name suggests, it allows users to add a specific song to their profile that best describes their mood or other preferences. The selection can be made from Instagram’s library of licensed tracks.
