A Scottish teenager has died after falling from a seventh-floor apartment on the Spanish island of Mallorca.

Natalie Cormack, 19, According to Spanish police, she was trying to climb from one balcony to another in her Eden Roc de Torrenova apartment in the popular holiday resort of Magaluf when the tragedy occurred.

She was trying to get from a friend’s apartment to her own in the popular holiday resort because she didn’t have her keys.

The woman had worked at a bar in the area and had previously declared on social media that she was having the time of her life, the BBC reported.

An ambulance rushed to the scene of the accident but could not save the teenager.

“We are still investigating, but it seems that she did not have keys when she arrived at her apartment and went to a friend’s apartment,” said a Guardia Civil officer in Palma.

“She was climbing onto her own balcony when she fell from the seventh floor. We know she is from Scotland and worked in a nearby bar, but we don’t have any further details yet.”

Her body was found on Saturday morning, but it is believed that she may have been dead for several hours before she was discovered.

The police have launched an investigation into the incident.

“We are supporting the family of a British national following her death in Spain and our staff are in contact with Spanish and British police regarding the incident,” a Foreign Office spokesman said.
