Dylan Lewis, a 25-year-old Pennsylvania man, was sentenced after pleading guilty to raping a 13-year-old Montgomery County, MD girl he met through an online video game.

As part of his guilty plea, Lewis was sentenced to 20 years in prison, suspended for all but four years, and five years of probation upon his release. He will also have to register as a sex offender for life, according to the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office.

According to a report from PennLive, “Lewis admitted to traveling to Maryland to meet the girl, whom he met through the online video game ‘Wild Animal.’ He had sex with her in a rental car at a freeway exit and he knew the girl, who police said was 13, was a minor, he said. Investigators discovered the girl’s bra when they searched his home.”

• Lewis had communicated with the girl over a period of three months, first through a video game and then by text message and phone. They exchanged sexual and nude photos.
• The two agreed to meet on December 31, 2022. Lewis drove to Maryland, picked up the girl on a street near her home, and they had sexual intercourse.
• The young girl, who was subjected to a forensic examination for sexual assault, gave police a picture of Lewis as well as personal information such as age, state of residence and phone number.
• On January 18, 2023, Pennsylvania State Police attempted to execute a search warrant for Lewis’ home north of Montoursville, but learned that he worked in Richmond Twp., Tioga County.
• There he was tracked down and his mobile phone was confiscated. When the contents were examined, pictures or videos of the girl naked or performing a sexual act were found.
