A Cirque du Soleil performer had a very scary experience during her performance in Oregon over the weekend… she fell from a great height to the ground… and the whole thing was caught on video.
The cast member, Mariia Konfektovatwirled on her aerial hoop during the Cirque du Soleil show Saturday night at the Portland Exposition Center in Oregon.
Check out the footage… Konfektova suddenly loses her grip on the big hoop and spins in the air before falling hard to the ground. Her head bounces off the ground and she looks around, dazed.
When the video stops, people rush to her aid.
Konfektova and her teammates are known to not use a net during their stunts, which adds an additional element of danger.
An observer of the performance, Benjamin Goldsteintold ABC News he initially thought the incident was part of the show – but then he saw blood pouring from her nose and realized something had gone seriously wrong.
Goldstein said Konfektova gave a thumbs up as people helped her onto the stage – and was then taken to the hospital for treatment.
