“Last Friday morning at 30 West Fairview Avenue. Last Friday morning, 12-year-old Isabella Amore Carlos was shot while sleeping in her bed at 33 West Fairview Avenue,” said Major Brian Johns of Dayton Police Investigations.

A 12-year-old girl was killed far too soon after shots were fired in the neighborhood where she was sleeping.

Police said on Tuesday that the shots were not even aimed at their house.

“We do not believe the residents of 33 West Fairview Avenue are the target of this shooting, but their home was hit nonetheless. Therefore, we believe people in the community know who did it and we are asking them to come forward,” said Major Johns.

Another update is that Dayton Police believe at least two shooters were involved in this crime.

“During the shooting, approximately 37 rounds of gunfire were fired at the scene, striking houses at 33, 39 and 41 West Fairview Avenue. Based on the evidence at the scene, we believe at least two different shooters were involved in the murder,” said Major Johns.

Now, Miami Valley Crime Stoppers is offering a $10,000 reward for anyone who can help police find out who took this little girl’s life.

“We are trying our best to get justice for Isabella and her family and that is why we are here today. A lot of people investigating these crimes have had a very busy summer. So they have had very little sleep, myself included, but we are trying to make that happen and make arrests in this case,” said Major Johns.
