What is it? A new fast-food restaurant is coming to Spring Arbor

SPRING ARBOR, MI – Construction has begun on a new fast food restaurant in Spring Arbor.

Taco Bell is building a new location at 8030 Spring Arbor Road. Workers are currently doing interior construction and finishing up exterior work for the new location, construction manager Matt DaPra wrote in an email.

Taco Bell officials said they expect the restaurant to open in Spring Arbor in early October. Plans call for a 2,000-square-foot facility that will include indoor seating and a drive-thru, DaPra said.

Spring Arbor was considered for this Taco Bell location because the fast-food chain is always looking to expand its presence in other communities, DaPra said. Dave Herlein, Spring Arbor community leader, said a Taco Bell has been a popular request from Spring Arbor University students and community residents.

“The residents of the community have told me they want more shopping and dining options,” Herlein said.

Once the restaurant opens, guests can expect the same Mexican-inspired menu items found at the restaurant’s other restaurants across the U.S. The location will also hire about 40 to 50 employees, DaPra said, adding that applications can be found on Taco Bell’s website.

“We are very excited to bring delicious tacos to a new community,” said DaPra.

This is the fifth Taco Bell location to open in the Jackson County area, joining locations at 2928 E. Michigan Ave., 801 W. Ganson St. and 2545 Airport Road in Jackson and 413 S. Main St. in Brooklyn.
