Brad Van Kooten, manager of applied seed technology at Pioneer, says seed treatment with Lumiante® fungicide is designed to help growers fight Pythium and Phytophthora.

As soybean farmers plant earlier in the spring, they need ways to deal with the problems caused by wet and cold conditions, Van Kooten says.

He says farmers can also expect better protection against insects with the introduction of Phalanx™ brand insecticide seed treatment, which will replace Gaucho® seed treatment.
