After a 3-1 loss to the Columbus Crew in the 2024 Leagues Cup final, LAFC now moves on to the US Open Cup and a semifinal match against the Seattle Sounders on Wednesday, August 28, at the Starfire Sports Complex in Tukwila, Washington. The winner will play in the US Open Cup final on September 25 (a match LAFC would host should it prevail).

Wednesday’s knockout match will be the fourth meeting between these two teams in 2024, in three different competitions. LAFC has emerged victorious from the last three meetings, including the most recent, a 3-0 victory over the Sounders in the Leagues Cup quarterfinals on August 17 at Lumen Field.

LAFC has a record of 7 wins, 0 losses and 2 draws in their last nine games against their fierce Western Conference rivals across all competitions. The Sounders’ last win against LAFC came in May 2021, 2-0, at Lumen Field.
