Preview, release date and time for Season 2, Episodes 1-3 of The Rings of Power

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2 is almost here! In the next few hours we will be showing the first three episodes of The Rings of Power Season 2.

A lot of time has passed since season 1. We’ve talked a little about what happened at the end of season 1, what’s next in season 2, and when exactly you’ll be able to dive in and see Galadriel (Morfydd Clark), Sauron (Charlie Vickers), Elrond (Robert Aramayo), and the rest of this great characters and cast again.

You don’t have to wait too long to immerse yourself in The Rings of Power Season 2! Prime Video will release the first three episodes of the season on Thursday, August 29th! The streamer also did this for the first season of the series and it went pretty well for Prime Video.

The first three episodes can be streamed at 3:00 a.m. ET / 12:00 p.m. PT on Thursday, August 29, according to Prime Video.

This is a difficult question for The Rings of Power Fans. Obviously fans have been waiting two years for this season, so a lot of people are going to want to stay up to watch the first three episodes of the season. The challenge is that fans will have to stay up super late. If you live on the West Coast, staying up until midnight on Wednesday night is no problem, but if you watch more than three hours of TV, you won’t have to go to bed until after 3 a.m.

For people on the East Coast, it is even more difficult! A 3 a.m. ET start to your Rings of Power If you binge-watch Season 2, it will end sometime after 6 a.m. ET.

However, if you live in the UK, you can watch the first three episodes of the season from 8:00am (BST).

We don’t have any episode titles for The Rings of Power Season 2, but we expect to find out soon!

We assume that not much time will have passed since The Rings of Power Season 1 ended before the start of Season 2. At the end of Season 1, the biggest revelation was that Galadriel discovered that Half-Rand is actually Sauron.

The first few episodes were to explore the aftermath of this revelation, including the creation of the Three Rings, which Celebrimbor made following Sauron’s advice. After spending time with Half-Rand/Sauron and being deceived in the first season, Galadriel was to regain her vengeance to eliminate Sauron once and for all.

Speaking of Sauron, the last time we see him this season, he’s on his way to Mordor. After all, he has a kingdom to claim.

And this is only possible because Adar’s plan destroys the dam containing the coveted sword. The water flows into Mount Doom and causes the volcano to erupt, creating the land of Mordor, Adar, and the new kingdom of the Orcs.

At the end of the first season, we also had to leave Arondir, Elendil and the people of Numenor behind, who suffered heavy losses after the eruption of Mount Doom. Arondir stays behind while Elendir and Miriel return to Numenor. Isildor is nowhere to be found.

When we last saw Nori and the Stranger, they left the Harfoots and headed for Rhûn. We don’t know exactly why, but one of Sauron’s servants mentioned that the Stranger, who is Istar, will regain control of his powers there.

We also know from the trailers that Sauron will somehow win the favor of Celebrimbor, probably as Annatar. There are many more rings to be made, including the seven for the Dwarves and nine for the Kings of Men. This is not a spoiler; we all know the story is going there.

So far we have seen in the new trailers for The Rings of Power. Overall, it’s hard to say where this whole war will take place, but I expect it will be later in the season. There’s still a lot of work to be done to bring all these characters back together, and it starts with the forging of the rings. That’s expected to happen early in the season, though it’s hard to say if that will happen in episodes 1-3.

In the first trailer, released at San Diego Comic-Con 2024, we see Galadriel admitting to Gil-Galad and Elrond that Halbrand was actually Sauron.

“War is coming to Middle Earth,” says Sauron in the first clip of the official trailer for The Rings of Power Season 2.

In the second trailer, we clearly see Elrond speaking of Eregion and holding the city. It looks like Celebrimbor’s city is under attack, but by who? Obviously, Adar and the Orcs could be responsible.

There are also plenty of dwarves in the season two trailers, and it looks like our grumpy cave dwellers are going even deeper into the earth. There’s a very clear shot of the Balrog. It looks like there’s a battle going on outside the gates of Khazad-dûm.

Most importantly, we see Galadriel captured by what look like Orcs. We don’t know if they are loyal to Sauron or Adar, but we’ll soon find out. It also seems that there is a possible truce between the Elves and the Orcs to join forces to stop Sauron, but the wheels of Sauron’s plans are already in full motion.

We also see that Galadriel and Sauron will meet again in The Rings of Power Season 2. All I know is that I can’t wait!

Oh, and I haven’t even mentioned the new dark wizard from the teaser! There were Ents and spiders! And of course, THAT Tom Bombadil, ladies and gentlemen.

As I said, I can hardly wait! Just a little while until the first three episodes of The Rings of Power Season 2 is now on Prime Video.
