Springfield Bass Pro Shops hosts the “Shoot Like A Girl” mobile shooting range
A company that wants to introduce more women to shooting sports is coming to Bass Pro Shops in Springfield.
The Shoot Like A Girl company will spend three days in Springfield as part of their 2024 tour, starting at 9am on Friday and ending at 3pm on Sunday.
Using a mobile shooting range, an interactive event is offered for women who want safety training, firearm and archery tips, hunting techniques and product reviews.
The Shoot Like A Girl trailer will be located in front of Bass Pro Shops. There will be activities and hands-on instruction from certified female instructors.
Visitors of all experience levels are welcome. No previous experience is required to participate in the event. All necessary equipment will be provided.
The event will take place Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Bass Pro Shops on Campbell Avenue and Sunshine Street.
Persons aged 18 and over are permitted to handle and fire handguns and long guns on the firing range using a military-grade firearm simulator.
According to a press release, the technology provides instant recoil, impact and sound feedback for a realistic shooting experience.
There are also archery instructors available to help with archery.
Outside the mobile shooting range, there will be a Shoot Like A Girl gun bar where a variety of firearms – revolvers, semi-automatic pistols, shotguns and rifles – will be available for comparison. The event will also feature products such as safety glasses, concealed carry handbags, holsters, pepper spray and more.
