St. Henry District High School named its gym floor after longtime coaches Dave Faust and Maureen Kaiser.

Both coaches have been working as head coaches and teachers at the Erlangen school for over 30 years.

Faust has coached the boys basketball team for 33 years and is the all-time leader in the 9th Region with 475 career wins. He has led the Crusaders to three All-A state championships and eight All-A 9th Region titles. In 2003, he led St. Henry to Rupp Arena after winning the 9th Region title. In addition to being the team’s career leader, Faust has been honored multiple times as a coach of the year at the state and local level. Faust is a member of the Newport Catholic Hall of Fame, the Thomas More Hall of Fame, the Northern Kentucky Sports Hall of Fame and the Northern Kentucky Athletic Directors Hall of Fame.

Kaiser is a 1985 graduate of St. Henry School and is also entering her 34th year with her respective program, the Crusaders volleyball team. Kaiser has over 800 wins as a head coach, which is one of the three all-time best in KHSAA history. She led the Crusaders to the 2021 state championship and has won seven All-A state championships. They have won nine 9th Region titles. Kaiser has won multiple Coach of the Year awards at the state and local levels and is a member of the Buddy Larosa Hall of Fame, Northern Kentucky Athletic Directors Hall of Fame and St. Henry Hall of Fame.

“We are honored to name our course after two legendary coaches who have meant so much to the St. Henry community,” said St. Henry Athletic Director Jim Demler. “Not only are they great coaches, but they are great people who have been great role models for all of their players and students.”

Principal Grant Brannen added, “Coach Kaiser and Coach Faust have had a lasting positive impact on our student-athletes at St. Henry District High School. It is an honor to work with these two every day. Naming the field after them is a small way to express our gratitude for their years of service and the profound impact they have had on our community.”
