Cardinals snap up experienced Eagles cornerback at the last second

Are the Philadelphia Eagles parting ways with cornerback/safety James Bradberry?

With the National Football League deadline for franchises to trim their rosters to 53 players just hours away, the Eagles have already made some moves, and there are more moves to be made.

It’s still unclear if Bradberry will join the Eagles’ active roster, but Alex Kay of Bleacher Report has suggested a deal with the Arizona Cardinals if Philadelphia wants to go in a different direction.

“The Cardinals receive: CB James Bradberry,” Kay said. “The Eagles receive: 2026 seventh-round pick. The Arizona Cardinals clearly need more help at the cornerback position after the team ranked 31st in the league in defense last year and allowed a worrying 32 touchdowns through the air.

“Although the organization spent a second-round pick on Max Melton and signed Sean Murphy-Bunting as a free agent, the depth behind those projected starters is rather shaky. Signing a proven cornerback like Bradberry could be just what the club needs to fill the void. Bradberry’s value is in the basement after a dismal 2023 season, but his play in 2022 has been top-notch.”

Bradberry has been one of the most talked about members of the Eagles over the past few months as people tried to figure out whether or not he would still be on the team in 2024. We should know the answer soon.
