Elon Musk was in an episode ofRick and Morty five years ago, but he has unfollowed the show on Twitter/X – and it seems that there is no friendly relationship on either side.

The show’s writer, Caitie Delaney, spoke out about the Tesla CEO on the platform, saying that she “hates him with a passion.”

Delaney wrote the fourth season episode “One Crew Over the Crewcoo’s Morty,” which aired in 2019.

In it, the two put together a team to commit a heist. While hopping through multiverses, they encounter a version of Elon Musk named Elon Tusk.

As the name suggests, he has a pair of tusks and helps Rick and Morty on their journey.

Musk has since unfollowed the show and Delaney has stated that she is not at all surprised.

Delaney retweeted a post from Big Tech Alert, adding: “Did he hear that the writer of the episode he guest stars in hates him (me) with a passion?”

That might have something to do with it.

Musk posted about Rick and Morty in the past. In one notable post, Musk responded to Adult Swim’s statement announcing that the show’s co-creator Justin Roiland would no longer be associated with the show. This announcement in January 2023 came after reports that Roiland had been charged over an alleged domestic violence incident from 2020, which Roiland denied.

YouTuber Tim Pool responded to the statement on Twitter, writing: “Like lol. Justin is Rick *and* Morty.”

Musk responded by writing, “He is also the heart of the show.”

In March, all charges against Roiland were dropped after the Orange County District Attorney’s Office said there was “insufficient evidence to prove the case beyond a reasonable doubt.”

NBC News later released a new report containing nine separate accounts of alleged sexual misconduct by Roiland.

The report claims Roiland exploited his connection to the show to attract young fans.

A lawyer representing Roiland said the allegations were “false and defamatory.”
